Norwegian Air Low-Cost Transatlantesch Eskalatioun

Soon after the launch of direct flights from Rome to the USA, Norwegian Air, a low-cost Transatlantic air service provider, has received the first ok to connect Italy and Argentina. The agreement covers the length of 15 years, and Norwegian operation can cover a total of 153 domestic and international routes out of 156 routes applied for. The air vessel scheduled for service is a Dreamliner.

The granting is blessed by the Argentinian Civil Aviation Air Control Authorities and it includes non-stop services from Buenos Aires to Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino, as reported by the Italian daily Il Corriere Della Sera.

“The flights’ operations will be deployed in a period of 5-8 years, pending the official approval of the Minister of Transport of Argentina,” reported Alfons Claver, one of the executives of the Institutional relations of Norwegian Air.

“We will begin to operate the London Gatwick-Buenos Aires route on Valentine’s Day 2018 by our English subsidiary, Norwegian Air UK,” continued Claver, “In the second half of the year, we will start flying by the Argentine subsidiary, Norwegian Air Argentina, both South American domestic and intercontinental routes.”

Milan has no direct flights to Argentina, while on Rome the competition will be with Alitalia and Aerolíneas Argentinas, both air carriers scheduled to cover Buenos Aires.

Norwegian Air will also connect Argentina to New York, Los Angeles, and Istanbul, with a total of 50 to 70 aircraft and plans to require about 3,200 people to cover the new routes operation.
