Ambassador for the Republic of Seychelles, Ms. Vivianne Fock Tave, was accredited to the Her Majesty’s Court, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in the Hague, last week on December 8.

Seychelles and the Netherlands established diplomatic relations in 1977 and have cooperated on numerous issues since, which, more recently, include the contribution of four Frigate vessels to the EUNAVFOR anti-piracy operations in the Indian Ocean.

Amb. Fock Tave, who is the Seychelles Resident Ambassador to Belgium and is based in Brussels, also recently presented her credentials to the Grand Duke of Luxembourg on November 16.

During their meeting the Ambassador briefed the Grand Duke on piracy in the region and its effects on the Seychelles fisheries and tourism sector, as well as on the macro-economic reforms the government recently undertook.

Amb. Fock Tave, on behalf of the government of Seychelles, also thanked the Grand Duke for the role Luxembourg was playing in the EUNAVFOR anti-piracy operations in the Indian Ocean, in particular for the two surveillance planes that were recently stationed in Seychelles.

Seychelles has had established diplomatic relations with Luxembourg since 1989.
