Petra Roach, CEO vun der Grenada Tourism Authority, sot "2022 war e phänomenalt Joer fir Grenada a mir hätten et net ouni d'Hëllef vun eise Reespartner gemaach. Méi wéi 60 Prozent vun de Grenada Arrivée kommen aus den USA an den Nordosten, besonnesch New York City, huet enorm Zuelen gewisen. Mir sinn houfreg op d'Zesummenaarbecht déi mir gemaach hunn, a mir freeën eis dës Zuel mat Iech am Joer 2023 ze wuessen.

Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) huet en intimen Dinner zu New York City gehost fir seng geschätzte Partner Merci ze soen. D'Versammlung vu Medien, Reesberoder an Touroperateuren gouf am Allora Ristorante an der Mëtt vum Manhattan ofgehalen.

2022 was a busy year for the destination. The GTA launched its Grenada Travel Expert Program, an e-learning program that allows the travel agent community to acquire the knowledge necessary to become an expert in selling the destination. In addition, the GTA introduced its Simple Stays Grenada program, which offers visitors access to the destination’s smaller, more intimate properties. The island’s beloved Spice Mas returned this year, and the destination increased air capacity and returned service with a number of its airline partners including American Airlines, Air Canada, Caribbean Airlines, JetBlue, and Sunwing.

Randall Dolland, Chairman of the Grenada Tourism Authority, weighed in on the significance of Grenada’s travel partners, stating “Grenada’s tourism arrivals are trending in the right direction, and we know that’s a result of your efforts. Thank you for your commitment to the destination. We expect 2023 will be even better as we expand our tourism offerings with new hotels openings and exciting attractions. We’re excited about what’s to come and growing our relationship with each of you.”

The emcees for the evening were Christine Noel-Horsford, Director of Sales, USA, and Shanai St. Bernard, Marketing Manager, Grenada Tourism Authority. The duo shared warm greetings and handed out appreciation awards, which were accepted by:

  • Mr. Carl Stuart, Sales Executive, Caribbean Airlines
  • Ms. Heidi Gallo, Sales Manager, East Coast, Calabash
  • Ms. Molly Osendorf, Sales & Marketing Director, Mount Cinnamon Resort & Club
  • Ms. Layra Liriano, Manager, Sales & Account Development, Royalton
  • Ms. Karlene Angus-Smith, Associate Director, Industry Affairs, Sandals
