The Greek Economy and Development Ministry evaluated close to 7,300 from enterprises under the “Strengthening the Establishment and Operation of New Small and Medium-size Tourism Enterprises” 2014-2020 funding plan. From that group, a little over 2,500 were classified as eligible to receive funds, and from there, 1,786 are part of the “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPAnEK) operational program of which 741 are part of regional operational programs.

Investments for the enterprises will cover costs for such things as hotel ventures and furnished rooms and apartments, to name a few.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Development, Stathis Giannakidis, said this program is an important opportunity to utilize public and community resources in developing tourism investments in Griichenland, which will benefit the country’s economy and provide substantial support for employment.
